Emergent / Emerging Church Survey
If you consider yourself part of the conversation/phenomenon that is the Emergent/Emerging Church, I would appreciate ten minutes of your time.
I am collecting preliminary data for a more detailed social network survey in the fall. The survey involves the Emerging / Emergent Church, and the people who tend to be connected to that conversation. If you would be willing to help out, Click here to take survey
This is a convenience sample, and is not meant to be scientific. However, if you would be willing to help out, it should take less than ten minutes to answer just a few short questions, and I would really appreciate it.
The survey will be open until Tuesday, 22 April. Thanks!
will,
i started taking it, and kind of left me unsettled, like one of those surveys you take where the answers you'd want to give aren't offered; anyway, i abandoned it after the who am i friends with screen kinda creeped me out. sorry. can't articulate why other than felt too strange enumerating who was in and out of my friends list. i hope the methodology is good and that something good comes from your research, however.
con respeto, su amigo,

Hi. As there was no space for comments at the end of the survey I will give you feedback here. I think the categories about whether we had read/ seen/ heard the various emerging people, were rather problematic. I have only ever heard Scot Mcknight speak in person as he was in Denmark last summer, however I have clicked that i have heard several of the others because i listen regularly to podcasts that feature them. Then there are others who have blogs that i follow or who are the topic of others blogs that i read but there was no space for that. I have fx marked that I have read a book by Andrew Jones, but i mean i read his blog. Either we have heard them speak, read their books, seen their videos or never heard of them. Poor choices! Where are the categories heard of them (but not read anything by them), listen to them on podcasts, read their blogs??? I'm sure I'm not the only one who primarily engages the emerging conversation via blogs/ podcasts.

Took it. I also thought the categories were too limiting, but I've put together some Survey Monkey surveys and understand the difficulty of creating a complete survey.
I will be meeting you on the 28th at The Gathering in Salem, MA. Looking forward to it. Maybe I should have added you to the list of five names to add.

Good idea- hope the data is helpful. I was a little surprised however that some questions favored Americans and old media.

Got the survey done through the Emergent C mailer. Thought it was weird but was certainly happy to try to answer what I could. Hope it helped.

Could not take the survey. My wife Lucy had already done it. But my own answers would have been quite different to her's. For instance, I would have also listed Fuzz Kitto, Brian McLaren, John Smith of God's Squad CMC, Ashley Barker of UNOH, Michael Frost, Alan Hirsch, Andrew Jones as leaders I know or have met. John Smith is a personal friend and considered a leader of the movement in Australia where I live. I have also read many books by emergent authors such as Jonny Baker, Mark Driscoll & Tom Sine. Because the survey machine won't allow me to take the survey because my wife uses the same email address, I assume the same must have occurred with other husbands and wives with similar arrangements. That means your research results will be less accurate than they might have been had each partner been able to lodge independent survey results using a shared email address. Could this be rectified for future surveys?

I took it, and I think I know what you're getting at. But we'll see!

This has nothing to do with post. I can't believe you guys are going to leave me stranded at ICRS with no backup. Killing me.
Just me and my dad now.
