Writing Your Own Copy of "The Message"
At a retreat with Len Sweet that Lisa and I attended he encouraged each of us to own the Bible for ourselves. The Message is great, but Eugene Peterson has a much closer connection to it than anyone else could. Each of us should have our own "Message". Lisa took that to heart and has created "Lisa's Message" for 1 Corinthians 13. It is in 2 sections, The Love Chapter and The Love Chapter, cont'd.
I encourage you to do two things. 1) Check it out. 2) Write your own!
This is a fascinating idea ... and I like Lisa's Love Chapter. It kind of makes one pause and see how does the Scriptures "saturate" and "shape" us totally!
